Today is Non-League Day.
It’s been organised by my friend James Doe, a QPR and Harrow Borough fan, to encourage people to go along to a non-League game during the international break.
James is a right ideas man. Honestly, the guy is full of them – always coming up with some kind of great idea. April’s Tiger Feet walk from Loftus Road to Selhurst Park to raise money for the QPR Tiger Cubs was his idea for starters.
Anyone interested in QPR, Harrow Borough or events in W12 (James is a Shepherds Bush man through and through) might like to follow him on Twitter, as a number of Rangers fans already do.
Non-League Day really seems to have taken off. It’s proved really popular, attracted much interest, and could even become a regular thing during international breaks. So why not go along to your local non-League club?
Unlike Lee Brown, James and I will be at Hayes & Yeading v Histon. This time though he’s not roping me into a 607 bus trip, which had me ready to slit my wrists by the time we arrived for QPR’s pre-season friendly there.
And the 607 is the express service. Had we got the 207 we’d probably still be on it. Definitely the train for me today.
